The Moving Train: Buhari’s Three Million Jobs And Other Promises. By Sylvanus Omoniyi

Buhari is a cancer to Nigerians. I tender no apology for saying this. He is an unscrupulous manipulator who may never do anything good for this country. There are those whose primary ability is to spin wheels of manipulation. It is their second skin and without these spinning wheels, they simply do not know how to function. Manipulation can be defined as the exercise of undue influence through mental distortion and emotional exploitation, with the intention to seize power, control, benefits, and privileges at the victim’s expense. According to professor Preston Ni, most manipulative individuals have four common characteristics:

1. They know how to detect your weaknesses.

2. Once found, they use your weaknesses against you.

3. Through their shrewd machinations, they convince you to give up something of yourself in order to serve their self-centered interests.

4. In work, social, and family situations, once a manipulator succeeds in taking advantage of you, he or she will likely repeat the violation until you put a stop to the exploitation.

Buhari made a million promises when he was campaigning. Now, he doesn’t even know how to fulfil those promises. Nigerians are suffering but the old man and his family don’t feel the pressure. You don’t have to kill people before you bring about change. Buhari is impotent, unless we want to keep deceiving ourselves.

Now, let us consider some of the lies of President Muhammadu Buhari, before he became the president of Nigeria in 2015. Firstly, Buhari promised Nigerians that he would rescue the Chibok girls and stop Boko Haram activities within two months in office. When he came to office and he couldn’t do that, he had to use a cover up that if the military couldn’t stop Boko Haram for many years, how do Nigerians expect a miracle from him. Can you now see that your Buhari has no sense?

Secondly, when Nigerians were still contemplating whether to vote for him because of his age, Buhari had to rush out to tell Nigerians that his age has nothing to do with his ability to rule Nigeria. Later, he had to swallow his words again by telling Nigerians that his age will affect his performance. Honestly, there are times I’m tempted to think that Muhammadu Buhari is mentally unstable.

Again, it was Buhari who blamed Jonathan that it was incompetence for Jonathan to seek for external help to solve a domestic problem. The same Buhari has been running to different foreign countries to seek help on how to curb the menace of Boko Haram. Is that one not external help? Buhari is competent indeed.

That is not the end. Muhammadu Buhari promised Nigerians that he would bring down the price of petroleum to N48 per litre and make it available throughout his administration. Today, we all know what petroleum has become. And also, Buhari promised to make one dollar equal to one naira. Till now, our president has not been able to do anything about the skyrocketing dollar. And products in the markets continue to become more expensive. What shall we do? Pray for Buhari or curse him?

Our Buhari didn’t stop at that. He also made a promise to create 3 million jobs yearly for Nigerians, to solve the problem of unemployment. We can now see that everyone in Nigeria is employed and youths are not roaming the streets again with their certificates. Nigeria is indeed a good country. Buhari has made it so.
