The Moving Train: Wole Soyinka Is a Noisy Coward, An Empty Barrel. By Sylvanus Omoniyi

Many beautiful things happened to me last weekend.I was robbed by armed robbers and I lost some valuables. I also had my Facebook account blocked for 48 hours by Facebook because I posted a picture of Melania Trump in a lesbian photoshoot. The picture was removed by Facebook but they still blocked me. It is alright. I won’t be angry because I know Facebook is Mark Zuckerberg’s property. I will remain calm for now until I have created my own social media app.

On the cucumber story, I have read so much about Chidinma’s cucumber story that you would think I am making money from it. Chidinma Okeke said she was pressurized into making the video by the organizers of the pageant. ABS said she was lying. That she was lured into that act because of her greed. Who do we believe? Who is the liar? Chidinma Okeke or ABS? Anyway, may we live long to see the end of this drama in Jesus’ name.

Much has been said about Wole Soyinka and his intention to destroy his green card. Nigerians have been shouting his name on the blogosphere. I already told you people that Wole Soyinka is a noisy coward, a babbling old man, an empty barrel that makes the loudest noise. He is just like those Nigerian politicians that he has been speaking against. Does he deserve my respect? For now, no. I see him as a cunning man, a tortoise, a chameleon who is capable of changing its colours. Anyone who follows Wole Soyinka should be prepared to get lost.

I know most people will come for me but that’s my opinion. You can go and have yours. They say we shouldn’t insult Wole Soyinka. They say he is educated. They say he is an elderly man. That he is an erudite. They have forgotten that Wole Soyinka has been insulting those who are older than him for a long time. What kind of stupidity is that? You mean Wole Soyinka is free to insult his elders but the younger ones cannot insult him? You must be joking. Karma has come to play. People should reap whatever they sow. If Wole Soyinka the white-headed professor doesn’t want to be insulted by the younger generation, he should stop insulting his elders.

Let us forget about Soyinka for now. There are better things to talk about. I am happy that my hero, Jackie Chan, 62, was awarded an honorary Oscar at the Eighth Annual Governors Awards at the Hollywood and Highland Center in Los Angeles on Saturday night. According to BBC News, Chan made his film debut at the age of eight, before starring in more than 30 films in Hong Kong. He achieved worldwide fame after Rumble in the Bronx in 1995, going on to star in Hollywood films including the Rush Hour trilogy, Shanghai Noon and The Karate Kid in 2010. “It’s a dream,” Chan said on stage. “Friends, fans around the world, because of you, I have a reason to continue making movies, jumping out windows, kicking and punching and breaking my bones.”
