Visionary Christian’s Life. By Victor A. Imhangbe

To be visionary, it means a person with unusual powers of foresight. You’ve got big ideas. Crazy ideas and forward thinking ideas; ideas that just might change the way the world works. As people after God’s heart, we are created with unlimited vision in all spheres of our lives as children of God. We are meant to be great and successful in everything we do. It is God’s desire for Christians to be pace setters. The Bible tells us in Matthew 5:13 – 16. “You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet”.

A visionary person could be a person that sees vision through great thinking and ability to forecast the future correctly. In religions terms they are called different names like; seers, prophets, priest, Pastors as the case may be. Visionary person is that which that sees visions. Vision means to unveil something that has been covers. In Genesis 21:8-21, through vision Hagar was able to see a stream of water when Ismail was dying of water. It imply both physical and inner eyes, the inner eyes is the spiritual eyes, while the physical is the eyes we use for visual which is a typical example of vision.

Proverbs 29:18 says “Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he”. The Bible tells us again in Hebrews 11:3, that whatever you can think and visualise, so you can be. “Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear”. In the circular world, vision is the difference between a rich man and the poor man, because it’s not everyone that look that actually sees. Example, when Jesus saw Simon Peter, meaning an unstable man, but through vision, He saw a stable man in him. It takes a visionary man to sees solutions to problems.

“The most pathetic person on earth is a man with sight, but not able to see” Unknown. Are you confused as to what to do in life? You think your life is miserable or there is no hope for you? Cheer up my brothers and sisters; there is nothing impossible before Jesus Christ. Turn to the Bible in the book of Mark 10:46-52. The story of a blind man, Bartimaeus (which means “son of Timaeus”) is an example you need to follow. Stop procrastinating, call on Jesus Christ to open your eyes so that you can sees.
In our next discussion, we shall examine how to become a visionary Christian. May God impact us with the gift of vision in Jesus name’ Amen!
